Having read a book on SOLO by Steve Martin (I would recommend this as it is more accessible than the Hook books initially as it focuses on scince) I have tried to look for more information on how to use it in my subject (science). I used it with a year 10 group to get them to break down an essay style exam question and it worked quite well. Like other newbies I found an EA rubric hard to devise – but will definitely persevere. One question, how often should I use SOLO as a tool with my students?
